What will the future of tourism in Italy be during the coronavirus emergency?

At The Thinking Clouds, we're persistently trying to imagine new scenarios in which innovative startups become catalysts for tourism in Italy, thanks to technologies like artificial intelligence.

Today, we were guests at Scai Comunicazione's "The New Season" event, a panel discussion to offer concrete solutions to the current emergency. We briefly discussed the experience of Glooci, our app that allows you to engage with the spirit of the region—a virtual tour guide available 24/7—and the products we're developing to promote culture in Italy's art cities.

Our experience with Glooci is teaching us that the cultural heritage and tourism experience market doesn't necessarily need new products, but rather new business models that seek to improve not only the experience of people unable to reach cultural sites, but also the offerings of museums, archaeological sites, and production companies in the area.

For this reason, there is a need for new business models that redistribute value, through cooperation between multiple players in the creation of a "unique" experience, a guided and virtual tour that allows a story to be told and the area to be highlighted.

What if someone who actually lived history accompanied you on your next trip?
